La Didi — a shop of one-off pieces that updates itself
Bags, hats, neck warmers and dog coats, crocheted by hand one at a time. Every piece exists in a single copy: the site had to tell all of them, and change every time a new one is born — without going through us.
The challenge
Someone who makes one-off pieces has a problem an ordinary shop doesn't: the catalogue never repeats itself. A bag exists once, it sells, and something else takes its place. As long as the work lives only on Instagram, each piece lasts as long as a post: whoever looks for it a month later won't find it, and whoever searches for «a crochet coat for my dachshund» never gets there at all. She needed a site that tells the pieces the way she tells them — and that she can update herself, because calling someone for every new bag doesn't hold up.
What we did
We designed a site that looks like what it sells: warm, colourful, handmade down to the details, with Didi — the dachshund who tests the coats — as a real character rather than a stock mascot. No template: type, colour and rhythm all come from her pieces.
Underneath sits a panel she runs herself: she uploads the photos (compressed automatically), writes a couple of lines, picks the cover, publishes or hides. From that catalogue the home showcase, the categories, the current collections and a dedicated page for every single piece are all generated on their own. Around it are the pages that answer the questions she actually gets: the dog coats, the guide to measuring your dog, who she is, the FAQ. The order doesn't go through a cart but through WhatsApp, which is how her customers actually buy.
How it gets found now
Every published piece becomes an indexable page, with its own name, photos and price: the site grows by itself every time she works, and it owns precise searches — «dachshund sweater», «crochet bucket bag», «handmade dog coat» — where a general shop never lands. The FAQ and the catalogue data are structured so AI assistants can read them and cite her too.
The result is online: ladidi.art.
